Director & Operations Manager | Pesona Jiwa & Empowering Awareness Counselling & Consultancy
Nancyl
Pesona Jiwa operates as part of Empowering Awareness, and Nancy’s role sits across both.
Within Pesona Jiwa, that means she is not simply responsible for administration or hospitality.
She oversees the operational structure that allows the retreat to function.
She coordinates the schedules.
She oversees the treating therapists and practitioners.
She manages the practical needs of each guest.
She helps connect the clinical, therapeutic, wellness and hospitality teams.
And she makes sure that the many moving parts of an individual programme come together in a way that feels seamless to the person receiving care.
Her role is fundamental.
Without Nancy, there would be no Pesona Jiwa in the form it exists today.
Director Across the Wider Organisation
As a Director of Empowering Awareness Counselling & Consultancy, Nancy has responsibility that extends beyond the retreat itself.
Empowering Awareness is the wider organisation behind Pesona Jiwa and provides counselling, psychological support, therapeutic services and clinical development beyond the residential retreat environment.
Nancy’s operational leadership spans both.
That gives her a unique overview of the organisation as a whole.
She understands the clinical structure.
She understands the people delivering the work.
She understands the systems behind it.
And she understands how Pesona Jiwa fits within the wider therapeutic and organisational framework of Empowering Awareness.
For Pesona Jiwa guests, this creates continuity.
The retreat is not operating as a standalone wellness business disconnected from the clinical organisation behind it.
It sits within a broader counselling and therapeutic structure, and Nancy is one of the key people holding those areas together.
The Operational Heart of Pesona Jiwa
At Pesona Jiwa, Nancy is the operational heart of the programme.
Her title may say Operations Manager.
In practice, her role is considerably broader.
She knows who is treating each guest.
When every appointment is happening.
Which therapist is involved.
What the guest has requested.
What needs to change.
What needs to be prepared.
Which member of the team needs to know what.
And what needs to happen next.
That oversight allows Pesona Jiwa to remain genuinely personalised.
We do not operate around a fixed group timetable.
Every guest has a different programme.
Every schedule is individual.
Every combination of treatment, therapy, rest, movement and support is built around the person.
Nancy is the person who makes that level of individualisation operationally possible.
Coordinating the Treating Team
One of Nancy’s most important responsibilities is overseeing and coordinating the team of professionals involved in each guest’s care.
Depending on the individual programme, that may include:
- psychologists
- psychotherapists
- counsellors
- psychiatrists
- doctors
- nurses
- taVNS sessions
- art therapy
- yoga and meditation
- massage and body-based therapies
- movement and physical training
- holistic practitioners
- Balinese cultural and spiritual experiences
Nancy works across these different disciplines to make sure they operate as one programme rather than a series of disconnected appointments.
That distinction matters.
A guest should never feel that they are moving from one practitioner to another with nobody holding the wider picture.
Nancy holds that picture.
She helps ensure the right people are involved at the right time and that the schedule continues to reflect what the guest actually needs.
Overseeing the Complete Guest Journey
Nancy’s involvement begins before a guest arrives.
She helps coordinate the practical aspects of the retreat so that by the time the person reaches Pesona Jiwa, the framework is already in place.
That can include:
- arrival arrangements
- transport
- villa preparation
- treatment schedules
- practitioner availability
- meals
- activities
- appointments
- excursions
- personal requirements
Once the retreat begins, she remains the central operational point throughout the stay.
If something changes, Nancy knows.
If an appointment needs to move, she arranges it.
If the clinical team recommends a change in pace, she helps make it happen.
If the guest needs something additional, she coordinates it.
If something unexpected occurs, she solves it.
The aim is simple:
The guest should not have to carry the operation.
Nancy does that for them.
Why That Matters Clinically
For many of the people who come to Pesona Jiwa, this is more important than it first appears.
Our guests are often people who are used to carrying responsibility.
They manage teams.
Businesses.
Families.
Other people’s needs.
Calendars.
Travel.
Problems.
Even when they are exhausted, they continue managing.
Then they arrive at Pesona Jiwa and the expectation changes.
They do not have to organise the next appointment.
They do not have to remember who is coming.
They do not have to coordinate transport.
They do not have to make sure everybody else is where they need to be.
Nancy has already done it.
That practical reduction in responsibility can itself become part of the experience of recovery.
Creating Predictability and Safety
Psychological safety is not created only in therapy.
It is also created through environment.
Predictability.
Consistency.
Knowing what is happening.
Knowing who to speak to.
Knowing that someone is paying attention.
Nancy creates much of that structure.
When a guest knows that their day is organised, that their treatment team is coordinated and that somebody is watching the details, there is less need to remain in a state of constant management.
For someone already dealing with burnout, trauma or chronic nervous-system activation, that can be significant.
The message becomes:
You do not have to hold everything here.
Someone else is holding it with you.
Personalisation Requires Constant Adjustment
A genuinely private programme cannot simply be designed once and left untouched.
People change during treatment.
What someone needs on day two may not be what they need on day ten.
A counselling session may bring something important to the surface.
A guest may need more rest.
Another therapy session may become useful.
A medical appointment may need to be added.
A planned activity may need to move.
A different practitioner may need to be involved.
Nancy manages those changes.
This ability to adjust without losing the wider structure is one of the reasons Pesona Jiwa can remain truly individual.
More Than Logistics
Nancy’s role is sometimes difficult to describe because so much of what she does happens behind the scenes.
But calling it logistics alone would significantly underestimate it.
The operational environment around care directly affects how the guest experiences the retreat.
If the guest constantly has to ask:
Where am I supposed to be?
Who is coming?
Has this been organised?
How am I getting there?
What happens next?
Then they are still managing.
Nancy removes as much of that burden as possible.
Her job is to make the complex feel simple.
Anticipating Needs Before They Arise
Nancy is known for her attention to detail and her ability to anticipate what may be needed before it becomes a problem.
That is one of the things that distinguishes excellent operational care.
The guest may never know that something had to be rearranged.
That a practitioner’s schedule changed.
That transport was reorganised.
That a request mentioned casually earlier in the day was remembered.
That is intentional.
The objective is not for the guest to see the amount of work happening behind the scenes.
The objective is for everything to feel calm.
A Constant Presence Throughout the Retreat
Because Pesona Jiwa works with one guest at a time, relationships matter.
Nancy is not simply managing the retreat from an office.
She becomes part of the guest’s experience.
She is one of the consistent people they see.
One of the people who knows what is happening.
One of the people who can answer questions.
One of the people who can make something happen when it needs to happen.
For an international guest arriving in Bali at a vulnerable or difficult point in their life, that continuity can be very reassuring.
Connecting Pesona Jiwa With Empowering Awareness
Nancy’s role across both Pesona Jiwa and Empowering Awareness also means she helps maintain continuity between the two organisations.
Empowering Awareness provides the wider counselling and therapeutic structure.
Pesona Jiwa provides a more intensive, private residential environment.
The two are connected.
They share a wider clinical philosophy.
They share people.
They share standards.
And Nancy helps make sure those connections remain operational rather than existing only on paper.
This is especially important where a client may need different levels of support over time.
The retreat is one part of a broader organisation.
Nancy understands the whole structure.
Indonesian Leadership at the Core
Nancy’s role also reflects something important about Pesona Jiwa’s identity.
Pesona Jiwa welcomes international guests, but it is part of an Indonesian company and is rooted in Indonesia.
Nancy is central to that leadership.
She is not simply responsible for local administration.
She is a Director of the company.
Her role spans leadership, operations, staff coordination and guest care.
Alongside the Indonesian psychologists, counsellors, medical practitioners, nurses, therapists and hospitality team, Nancy helps ensure that the organisation remains grounded in the country and community in which it operates.
For us, international standards and Indonesian leadership are not opposites.
They belong together.
Leadership Without Noise
The operational side of Pesona Jiwa can be complex.
Plans change.
Schedules move.
Flights are delayed.
Practitioners become unavailable.
Guests need something unexpected.
Treatment priorities change.
Nancy manages those realities with a calm, practical style.
She does not make the complexity visible unless it needs to be.
That calmness has become part of the culture of Pesona Jiwa.
Professional.
Warm.
Responsive.
Discreet.
Protecting Privacy and Discretion
Privacy is fundamental to the Pesona Jiwa model.
Many guests choose us because they do not want the visibility of a large treatment centre or group retreat.
Some are executives.
Business owners.
Professionals.
Public-facing individuals.
Others simply value privacy.
That level of discretion requires careful operational planning.
Transport.
Practitioner schedules.
External appointments.
Villa access.
Staffing.
Guest movements.
These details all need coordination.
Nancy helps ensure that privacy remains built into the way the retreat operates.
The Person Behind the Programme
Guests may remember the therapy.
The villa.
The ocean.
A breakthrough.
A conversation.
A day they finally slept properly.
What they may not see is how many things had to work correctly in the background for those moments to happen.
Nancy creates much of that structure.
Her success is often measured by what the guest does not have to think about.
That is the paradox of excellent operations.
The more work Nancy does, the less operational complexity the guest experiences.
They simply feel cared for.
Why Nancy’s Role Is So Important
There would be no Pesona Jiwa in its current form without Nancy.
The therapeutic vision needs someone capable of making it operational.
The staff need coordinating.
The treating therapists need scheduling.
The programmes need organising.
The guest needs supporting.
The wider company needs managing.
The inevitable problems need solving.
And somebody has to maintain an overview of all of it.
Nancy does.
She is:

- Director and Operations Manager across the wider organisation
- the operational lead for Pesona Jiwa
- coordinator of the treating team
- organiser of individual guest programmes
- a central point between clinical, therapeutic and hospitality teams
