Saraswati Yoga Instructor | Pesona Jiwa

Saraswati is a Yoga Instructor at Pesona Jiwa, bringing together mindful movement, breath awareness and a deep connection to her Balinese cultural roots.

Fluent in Indonesian, Balinese and English, she works comfortably with both local and international guests, creating sessions that feel welcoming, accessible and responsive to the individual.

Her approach to yoga extends beyond physical exercise. Saraswati uses movement, breath and mindful awareness to help guests reconnect with their bodies, slow down and develop a greater sense of stability and presence.

Her Approach

Saraswati’s teaching focuses on physical alignment, mindful breathing, body awareness and gentle practices that can support nervous system regulation.

Every guest arrives with a different relationship to their body.

Some may be experienced yoga practitioners, while others may be trying yoga for the first time. Guests recovering from prolonged stress, burnout or trauma may also experience tension, fatigue or discomfort with particular movements or physical sensations.

For this reason, Saraswati adapts each session according to the individual rather than expecting the individual to adapt to the practice.

Her teaching is patient, encouraging and non-competitive, with an emphasis on listening to the body rather than pushing beyond its limits.

Yoga Within the Pesona Jiwa Programme

At Pesona Jiwa, yoga forms part of the wider multidisciplinary approach to recovery and wellbeing.

Saraswati works alongside the psychological, medical and holistic teams, providing a body-based practice that complements psychotherapy and the other therapeutic elements of each guest’s programme.

Sessions may incorporate:

The intensity and structure of each session are adapted to the guest’s physical ability, emotional state and individual goals.

Reconnecting With the Body

Periods of chronic stress and emotional distress can change the way people experience their bodies.

Some guests arrive feeling physically tense and constantly activated, while others describe feeling exhausted, disconnected or unable to relax.

Saraswati creates opportunities for guests to notice these experiences without judgement.

Through gentle movement, breathing and periods of stillness, she encourages guests to become more aware of physical sensations and to develop a more compassionate relationship with their bodies.

The intention is not to achieve a particular yoga posture or level of performance, but to create an experience of movement that feels safe, grounded and restorative.

Balinese Roots & Mindful Practice

Saraswati’s teaching is also influenced by the spiritual and cultural environment in which she grew up.

Rather than presenting Balinese spirituality as a separate technique, she brings qualities of mindfulness, respect, connection and presence naturally into her sessions.

Her ability to bridge Balinese culture with contemporary yoga practice allows international guests to experience something that feels both accessible and authentically connected to the environment around them.

A Gentle Space for Movement

Saraswati’s warm and encouraging presence helps remove the sense of expectation that can sometimes accompany yoga.

Guests are encouraged to work at their own pace, listen to their bodies and recognise when rest is as valuable as movement.

At Pesona Jiwa, her sessions provide time to step away from analysis and conversation and experience recovery through the body — supporting physical restoration, greater self-awareness and moments of genuine calm within the wider therapeutic journey.
